|Mental Performance| Read 10 pages every day.

Reading 10 pages of a book every day can have a profound impact on your professional and personal life.

Over the past five years, I’ve committed to this practice, focusing on nonfiction books across business, biographies, science, and philosophy. Though I missed around 10 days in the five years, I still read approximately 18,250 pages, around one 300-page book per month, with some books revisited for deeper understanding.

This daily habit has done more than just fill my bookshelf. It’s also built my discipline, exposed me to new ideas, skills, language comprehension and led to better outcomes in my work and life.

What I do to find books to read:

  • Search for Book Recommendations: Find a successful person you admire and look up their book recommendations.

  • Read Biographies: Choose a person or company you respect and learn their story.

  • Explore Specific Subjects: Search for the best books in a subject that interests you or is relevant to your career.

Just a 20 minute block of time you need. That investment may be one of the best ones you make. Start today by picking up a book and reading 10 pages. Then return to it tomorrow. Continue the process every day.
